Lamentations 2:9-11

New King James Version

⁹ Her gates have sunk into the ground;
He has destroyed and ^(A)broken her bars.
^(B)Her king and her princes are among the ^[a]nations;
^(C)The Law is no more,
And her ^(D)prophets find no ^[b]vision from the Lord.

¹⁰ The elders of the daughter of Zion
^(E)Sit on the ground and keep silence;
^[c]They ^(F)throw dust on their heads
And ^(G)gird themselves with sackcloth.
The virgins of Jerusalem
Bow their heads to the ground.

^11 (H)My eyes fail with tears,
My ^[d]heart is troubled;
^(I)My ^[e]bile is poured on the ground
Because of the destruction of the daughter of my people,
Because ^(J)the children and the infants
Faint in the streets of the city.
